Innovating for Good:
Sales Director & Talent Acquisition Strategist

About Jessica L. Benjamin, J.D.

I am a strategic, friendly, non-transactional sales professional.

I was a former Director at Tribune, running a five-person department with P&L responsibility. I also managed R.J. Reynolds, a twenty million dollar account on the client and agency side, and placed four brands into 50 newspapers.

Former Team Lead at Monster Worldwide, where I coached and tracked metrics for nine salespeople. I was Sales Representative of the Year Monster Worldwide Northeast Regional Telesales 2016.

At Appcast, I raised an enterprise account's spend from seven thousand to seventy thousand monthly.

My expertise includes enterprise, full-cycle, agency, and global sales. I'm category agnostic with an affinity for talent acquisition.

You can feel confident working with me after reading about my awards and experience, but most importantly, partner with me so we can help you succeed and have fun doing it.

Talent Acquisition

Fixing this mess depends on writing correct, accurate, and enticing job ads. Your company draws up a job description outlining the job requirements. A well-written job ad explains why you're the employer of choice for people working in that field.

Here are some areas where I can help.

A job advertisement should clearly state whether the position is in-person, hybrid, or remote and indicate if you anticipate any changes. Someone should meet with the person in charge of talent acquisition to familiarize themselves with the employee brand and company mission. Then, getting feedback from the hiring manager about what they want in a candidate and what they don't need is helpful. Whether a college degree or five years of using two-year-old technology, a fresh pair of eyes helps them clarify the difference between requirements, nice-to-haves, and things that don't belong.

Finally, having someone with a legal background and an interest in removing bias from job ads can reduce the time it takes to hire. I can help.

Sales Philosophy

Selling isn't something you do to people; it's something you do with people.

I've thought about my sales style and describe it as consensual selling. I carefully listen to my client's needs and suggest solutions we can implement to solve problems.

Flexibility and the willingness to test ideas are paramount. Some things are sold better in person, some with a call or email. Some manually, some with software, AI, or automation. Whether I'm selling advertising, consulting, or managing your sales team, it's essential to me to identify your professional and personal goals so we can work in concert to achieve them. That includes a clear and measurable target of what success looks like.

At the end of every project, we should be able to evaluate whether we achieved our goals or missed the mark and set a path to move forward, growing with what we learned.

Content Creation

Do you need someone to create accounts for you or your business and work with you on a posting strategy?

Social media can be a full-time job by itself. First, I'll help you select the sites that are the best fit for your business. We can choose a posting strategy to get your message out at no cost, or you may want to budget for paid ads. Then, we can design a posting strategy for each social media site and a schedule and theme that resonates with your audience.

Many executives see value in this but need more time to respond to comments online or handle relationship management when they get a bad review on Yelp or Google. I can manage reviews in a way that attempts to resolve the issue while attracting other clients with your conciliatory tone.

I write for you, reflecting your or your brand's corporate voice.

“Jessica is an excellent listener. Although she worked with us many times, I never met her in person. She was able to fulfill our needs VERY successfully working over the phone and via email. In the "people" business that is something that is not easy to do!"
